NEW & EXPANDED COURSES – SPRING 2013 University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Introduction to Aquaponics - Biology 498/698, section 88 – 3 credits Hybrid course: Online lectures (February 27 – May 9) with weekly online discussion sessions; Field Trips meet (May 20 – May 22) at Nelson & Pade, Inc. Demonstration Greenhouse, Montello, WI. Designs, systems, techniques and methods for the integrated science of aquaponics, the combination of aquaculture (fish culture) and hydroponics (soilless plant culture). Foundational knowledge of aquaponic food production, crop selection, good agriculture & best management practices, and economics & marketing. Includes 3-day, hands-on lab sessions in May.
